Canon 550d w/ 18-55mm “kit” lens.

One step at a time my house becomes more of a home. I made some small changes to my setup and cleaned it from the bottom up (you’ll still see some cleaning-in-action things in the photo). A while ago I had my computer and desk in a separate room, but this make so much more sense. I can now comfortably put on a record whilst working from home. Lovely.

As soon as my wallet permits it I’ll purchase a new desk. I’ve had this shoddy little thing for about four years now and, while it served me well throughout those years, I’m ready for something more solid and, well, beautiful. A nice wooden desk with comfortable yet simplistic chair sounds about right, and while I’m at it I’ll also try to find one that is slightly longer, it can get awfully crowded on this desk, especially if I need to do something on my Air, too.

  1. This is simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

What program use to code? This that i saw in the monitor

Hi Ruben! That’s Sublime Text 2, a simply amazing editor/almost-IDE, it’s almost scary how fast this app is. Give it a try! http://www.sublimetext.com/2

  4. Hey, I caught this while lurking through SimpleDesks. What model Dell monitor are you rocking there on the side? I need a solid external that swivels to vertical. (also a Sublime user…it rules)

    Nice setup!

    Hi Scott!

Thanks for your kind words, I enjoyed the setup very much. Everything looks rather different these days, but that’s how it goes :-).

That’s the Dell 2208WFP, an oldie nowadays. I bought it way back when it was sort of top of the line, its 5ms response time was pretty much the best, or so I’ve been told. Nowadays I think it’s a rather common refresh rate, not to mention that its resolution is considered rather low, at just 1680×1050. We live in the HD era after all.

The arm that allowed me to rotate the monitor is the Ergotron NeoFlex. It’s probably not the best of arms, but it served its purpose. It wasn’t very smooth to rotate or move around, but for my needs that was perfectly fine, I always kept it this way.

    Hope this helps!
