Thanks for reading!

Unless you're satisfied with their sound now, I highly recommend you try this. It really makes a big difference in sound quality. I don't use these headphones for music (even after the modification they feel less nice than my other headphones), but use them every day (this very moment, actually) when watching TV.

I'm not very good at describing this stuff, but I've always felt these headphones put a sponge between you and the music, sort of muffled sound. This modification changes that quite a lot, making it feel like the music gets more breathing space, like the soundstage expanded somewhat.

Fortunately the modification is very easy to do. Unfortunately, it is irreversible. However, if you end up trying it yourself, I can promise you you'll not want to go back anyway :)

If you end up doing it, I'd love to hear your results. Feel free to contact me with more questions too. If you want. My email address is i.am at my website domain dot com.

Cheers!

Hi Scott!

Thanks for your kind words, I enjoyed the setup very much. Everything looks rather different these days, but that's how it goes :-).

That's the Dell 2208WFP, an oldie nowadays. I bought it way back when it was sort of top of the line, its 5ms response time was pretty much the best, or so I've been told. Nowadays I think it's a rather common refresh rate, not to mention that its resolution is considered rather low, at just 1680x1050. We live in the HD era after all.

The arm that allowed me to rotate the monitor is the Ergotron NeoFlex. It's probably not the best of arms, but it served its purpose. It wasn't very smooth to rotate or move around, but for my needs that was perfectly fine, I always kept it this way.

Hope this helps!
